PRESS RELEASE

PCD Monthly Newsletter: Jan 2026

Hello Courageous Democrats!

In this moment when un-American and unconstitutional events continue to be ordered and allowed and ignored by so many there are SO MANY standing in unwavering, courageous opposition, resisting fascism, speaking out, standing up and taking action.

We remain focused on what we can control, committed to supporting each other and dedicated to the ideals that we were all taught to believe, even as we observed a system that has never fully lived up to them. The idea that fascism has been part of our history for much longer than 2025 is real. And the reality we can take meaningful actions against it now to contribute to a wholesale shift of state and federal power in the midterm elections is also very real.

I must admit that as Chairwoman I have been in a moment of confusion about how to make a difference. Actions feel too small, words feel like they don't live up to the profound juxtaposition of disappointment in the wrongs being committed, even with the understanding that many of them have happened more or less under the radar throughout our country's history. Yet, an uneasy determination persists in me, I know that we must finally reinvent America and that now is our time to do our part.

To balance this confusion, I am investing more time in self-care, more time in training and more time in reading the words of leaders who are doing this work better than most. I want to encourage all of you to take heart in the face of this chaos. Look inward and feel the precious beating of life in each of your diverse and valiant hearts. Find hope knowing that millions of people are taking daily action -- people from all walks of life and status and background. Reach out to others often and protect your energy! We do not need everyone to read every bit of news every day. We DO need to raise our collective energy, in emotion and thought and action and keep hope, love and belief in our collective power alive! To that end we must continue to work together, collaborate and communicate more. We must stay focused in our God-given, source-given, intrinsic true power and keep doing what's right.

We're focusing our efforts by creating a cadence to our activities. Second Thursday of the month -- General Meeting. Third weekend of the month - newsletter. Fourth Thursday of the month - committees and precinct leaders send their reports to Central Committee. First Monday of the month - Committee Meetings. This should help us get more done and get more people involved.

We have a real opportunity to elect many Democrats to office at the Midterms.

Please see our events and meetings on our website at:www.paynecountydemocrats.org/events.

Thank you to everyone who is stepping up and taking action! Every action counts.  Your courage, creativity, dedication and presence are priceless, precious and impactful!

With gratitude,

"Democracy is not something you have, it's something you DO!"
