Stillwater, OK - This past Thursday, not a single seat remained vacant at the Payne County Democrats’ monthly general meeting. Voters from across the county convened at the Stillwater Community Center to get involved and hear about the important work county leaders and elected officials are conducting to expand Democratic causes at a time when more Americans grow frustrated with the current state of governance in the United States.

Late arrivals stood and lined the outer walls as County Chair Sarah Prater called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, with resources on civic engagement tips being distributed to those seeking to get more involved in upholding our democracy.

Rep. Trish Ranson (D - Stillwater) was also in attendance at this month’s meeting, providing updates on the end of the legislative session at the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, OK, and the work legislators coordinated to override Gov. Stitt’s numerous vetoes of important bills that would assist everyday Oklahomans. 

Members of the Stillwater Blue Dots community group and Red Wine and Blue were also in attendance, showing a continued unification of left-leaning organizations geared toward the common cause of helping everyday Americans who are struggling under today’s economic and governmental policies, as well as electing public officials who genuinely have Americans’ interests in mind.

The Payne County Democrats would like to extend a special thank you to all who attended this month’s meeting, and the county officers look forward to seeing everyone at future meetings and social events as we work to build a better future for all.
